What is Family Mediation?

Family Mediation is a voluntary and confidential process which provides separating and divorcing couples with the opportunity to make their own decisions about future arrangements for their children, finances and property.
Mediation can also be helpful when arrangements you’ve made before may need to change – typically as your children grow up.
Communication is key…
Family Mediation gives you the chance to discuss the future in a safe, neutral space. Mediators are trained to help you to have difficult and sensitive discussions in a calm and constructive way.
Communication is central to the mediation process. Mediation can help you to establish a new way of talking together, as you work through and resolve the issues you have both identified. This can be particularly important where you share children who you will co-parent long after the mediation process concludes.
