Spa Family Mediation works with couples and families to resolve arrangements around children, property and finances, helping reduce conflict and avoid the emotional and financial strain that court proceedings can bring.

You do not have to face this process alone. Mediation offers a confidential, neutral and structured environment where both parties are heard, discussions are carefully guided, and practical agreements can be reached with dignity and respect.

Our Mediation Services in Stratford-upon-Avon

MIAMs (Mediation Information & Assessment Meetings)

A MIAM is your first confidential meeting with a qualified family mediator. It allows you to explain your situation, understand how mediation works, and explore whether it is suitable for your circumstances.

MIAMs are often required before making certain court applications, but they are also a valuable opportunity to gain clarity, reassurance and informed guidance about your options.

Joint Mediation Sessions

Joint mediation sessions bring both parties together in a neutral and supportive setting. The mediator structures discussions so you can identify key issues, express concerns safely, and work towards practical, mutually agreed solutions.

Sessions are focused on progress rather than blame and take place at a pace that feels manageable for both parties.

Mediation for Children

Mediation can help parents agree arrangements for where children live, how time is shared, communication between households, school decisions, holidays and other important matters.

Children’s needs and well-being remain central throughout the process, supporting parents to reach arrangements that promote stability, reassurance and long-term cooperation.

Property & Financial Mediation

Financial matters can be one of the most challenging aspects of separation. Mediation provides a calm and structured space to discuss housing, savings, pensions, debts, maintenance and future financial planning.

The aim is to support open, informed conversations so decisions can be made jointly, fairly and with greater confidence.

How the Mediation Process Works

Step 1: Get in touch

Contact us via the website, by phone on 07507 018 370, or by email at jessica@spafamilymediation.co.uk. A free initial conversation is available to discuss your situation.

Step 2: MIAM

A confidential Mediation Information & Assessment Meeting, typically lasting around an hour, where mediation suitability and next steps are explored.

Step 3: Joint mediation sessions

If both parties agree to proceed, joint sessions are arranged. Most clients attend between three and five sessions, depending on the issues involved.

Step 4: Outcomes and documentation

If agreements are reached, these can be recorded in documents such as Parenting Plans or Memorandums of Understanding, which can then be shared with a solicitor if required.

Mediation is voluntary, confidential, and often quicker and less stressful than court proceedings.
